About Me
A little about me, I have been married to my husband Kevin since 1990 and we are living on the beautiful South Coast of NSW in Shell Cove formerly in beautiful Mollymook. I have two grown up children Sheridan and Justin and a new son in law David, who live in Sydney. We are a very close family, so I do spend a lot of time traveling up and down the coast.
My husband Kevin, comes along as my roadie to all my wedding ceremonies, he plays the music for your ceremony through my PA system and co-ordinates the sound for the microphones. He’s also my navigation man and driver, and a great supporter of my wedding adventures.
I formerly ran and owned a very successful dance school called the Julie Melrose School of Dance in Cherrybrook (northwest of Sydney in the Hills area) for 35 years. Before starting my dance school at 17, I was a child performer, always on stage, singing, dancing and hosting children's shows in the school holidays. All in all you could say becoming a celebrant was a natural progression, a progression of my performance skills.
Why become a Celebrant?? Well who doesn't love a wedding, weddings are wonderful occasions, weddings stir up emotions and memories from the past, and for others they bring to mind hopes for the future. I also became a celebrant to help families cherish the ones they hold dear and to create a service that defines a moment in time. My first wedding ceremony, being a celebrant, yes I was a little nervous but I knew I had a very special job to do. I felt the couples excitement and nerves but the main thing that I felt was their love, it was contagious. I have to say it was one of the best days of my life and It was a great honour, it also verified why I had become a celebrant. It was a truly special day. I do LOVE being in the LOVE business.
